Dr. Sarai Koo plays Jenny Chu.
This film is about an emotional and compulsive black sheep Olivia Chu who reunites with her estranged family by crashing her mother's funeral. Determined to say something but ill-prepared, Olivia unintentionally delivers an offbeat eulogy that sends her two dutiful older siblings, Jenny and Michael, scrambling to save face in front of friends and family. A reflection by Dr. Sarai Koo
When people first hear the word Re+Calibration™, they often assume it refers to improvement. Becoming more productive. More disciplined. More resilient. Re+Calibration is not about becoming more impressive.
It is about restoring coherence and alignment.
Human systems drift over time. Responsibilities accumulate. Roles expand. Demands increase. Parts of the system begin compensating for one another.
Thinking works harder when emotion becomes strained. Control increases when certainty disappears. Performance compensates for exhaustion.
From the outside, everything may still appear functional. Inside, the system becomes increasingly uneven. This is what pressure exposes.
Re+Calibration does not eliminate pressure. It restores access and alignment, within a person and across how they think, relate, and operate under pressure. Access to clarity when emotion rises. Access to choice when tension increases. Access to meaning when performance alone becomes unsustainable.
When Re+Calibration occurs, the system no longer relies on a single domain to carry the weight. The load redistributes and stabilizes. The result is not perfection. It is coherence.
Leaders often assume they must hold everything together through strength. Yet, sustainable leadership is not built on strain. It is built on integration.
When a leader is internally coherent, pressure does not need to be suppressed or controlled. It can be navigated. That difference changes how decisions are made, how teams experience safety, and how organizations respond under stress.
In earlier issues, we introduced the idea that integration occurs across several internal domains. These domains shape how people experience meaning, emotion, thought, relationships, stability, and contribution under pressure. Understanding those domains reveals where alignment has thinned.
In the coming issues, we will begin exploring them more directly. Because once people can see where integration has weakened, Re+Calibration becomes possible.
More soon.
